Thomas R. Farrell IV, DDS, practices oral and maxillofacial surgery with an office in Jacksonville, FL
Dr. Farrell is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon specializing in complex dentoalveolar surgery including dental extractions and bone grafting, dental implantology, benign head and neck pathology and maxillofacial trauma surgery.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree at San Diego State University, Dr. Farrell attended the University of Maryland in Baltimore, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Farrell completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX; followed by an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Augusta University/Dental College of Georgia. Throughout his training, Dr. Farrell received extensive experience in the treatment and management of craniomaxillofacial trauma at the premier level 1 trauma center in the region. While in residency, he published papers on the management of jaw fractures and wrote a textbook chapter for Innovative Perspectives in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on short dental implants.
Dr. Farrell has had the opportunity to do international mission work in Latin America, first on the hospital ship the USNS Comfort followed by several trips to El Salvador, providing dental care to those who would otherwise not have access. When not working, Dr. Farrell enjoys surfing, cooking and spending time with his wife, Heather and golden retriever, Murphy.
